Сoordinator of attacks on journalists detained

On February 28, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced detention of a foreign citizen who coordinated attacks on Gulzhan Yergaliyeva, Gulnar Bazhkenova, Vadim Boreyko, Samal Ibrayeva and others. He turned out to be "a qualified hacker O. Tokarev." Police seized equipment he used to place orders for illegal actions in anonymous Telegram channels, selected perpetrators of crimes, and coordinated their actions. According to the police, the criminal group committed more than 30 provocations, including arson of vehicles, threats and attacks on journalists, their relatives and editorial offices, hacks and DDoS attacks. 

“The purpose of the attacks of the criminal group was to imitate persecution of mass media in order to discredit the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the democratic reforms he is carrying out,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan said. 

Court arrested the suspect for two months.
