Possible bomb at ElMedia office reported

Late in the evening on December 7, the police received an anonymous call about possible explosive in the apartment and car of Gulzhan Yergaliyeva, the head of ElMedia. A task force urgently checked the journalist's home. The bomb was not found. As for the car the attackers mentioned, Yergalieva hasn’t owned it since 1995. The chief-editor believes that the hoax callers got her personal data from the state-run database, such as of the Ministry of Justice or the Ministry of Internal Affairs . 

The next day, another anonymous call reported a bomb at the ElMedia TV-studio. A task force with a K9 dog came again and , fortunately, they found nothing.  

Recently, Presidential office and the Ministry of Information stated that they took iunder special control the investigation of    attacks on female journalists.  Interior Minister detained eighteen-years-old suspects who broke  the windows of the business center where the editorial office is located, threatened the editor-in-chief of Orda.kz and damaged the car of  known journalist Dinara Egeubayeva. Miras Nurmukhanbetov, ElMedia journalist, suspects that detained attackers acted under the order of instigators, whose identity needs to be identified by law enforcement agencies.   

According to Gulzhan Yergaliyeva, Almaty city police department officers told her that they got a lead on potential crime instigators .
