The Interdistrict Civil Court of Astana accepted a collective lawsuit on October 7 from nine Kazakhstan journalists against the Ministry of Culture and Information, challenging provisions of the new order that establishes "Standard Rules for Journalist Accreditation". The plaintiffs argue that this regulatory legal act seriously violates their constitutional rights to freedom of speech and information dissemination.

A successful seminar on the new law "On Mass Media"  was held today in Almaty. The event brought together journalists and bloggers interested in up-to-date information on the latest legislative changes. Participants received valuable insights and practical recommendations from leading experts. 

Today, with the assistance of the International Foundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech "Adil Soz", an agreement was reached to resolve the issue of journalist Zhaniya Urankayeva gaining access to the Government Building of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 7 to 9 September 2024 in Almaty took place a three-day intensive seminar on training of editors-factcheckers, organized by the International Foundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech "Adil Soz" with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan and the independent international team of investigators and citizen journalists Bellingcat.

Journalist Zhaniya Urankayeva from Press.kz has been barred from entering the government building until the end of December 2024 for violating the rules regarding access and internal procedures of the Apparatus of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Today in Ust-Kamenogorsk, a seminar for journalists on the topic "The Media Law: Important Changes in the Work of Journalists" took place.
