Guilty person of closure of Caraganda TV Channel “TV-ART” was fined on thirty monthly assessment indices

Collegium of Criminal Cases of Caraganda Regional Court dismissed sentence of Temirtau City Court in relation to Bakhtiyar Omarov. He was found guilty in commitment of the crime under article 164 p.1 “Deliberate actions aimed at the incitement of social, national, tribal, racial, or religious enmity or antagonism, or at offence to the national honour and dignity, or religious feelings of citizens, as well as propaganda of exclusiveness, superiority, or inferiority of citizens based on their attitude towards religion, or their genetic or racial belonging, if these acts are committed publicly or with the use of the mass information media” of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan; was fined on thirty monthly assessment indices (38190 tenge) on December 22, 2009.

On March 21, 2009 Bakhtiyar Omarov sent extremist message to SMS-chat of TV Channel “TV-ART” from his mobile telephone. It has been “on-air” from technical error of the moderator and was broadcasted with repeatings during one hour.

TV Company “TV-ART” was closed in accordance with ruling of Specialized Inter District Economic Court of Caraganda region.
