There was an action for support of journalists, convicted for professional activity. It was connected with Anniversary of Arrest of Chief Editor of the newspaper “Alma-ata Info” Ramazan Yesergepov in Almaty on January 06, 2010. Journalists, human rights activists and activists of opposition political parties (totally 30 persons) took their participation in it. Editorial staff of the newspaper “Alma-ata Info”, non-governmental organization “Journalists in Trouble”, political organization “Alga” and NSDP “Azat” carried out this action.
Participants of the action released different balloons with names of convicted journalists. It meant Chief Editor of the newspaper “Alma-ata Info” Ramazan Yesergepov, correspondent of the newspaper “Vremya” Tokhniyaz Kuchukov, writer Alpamys Bekturganov and Chief Editor of the newspaper “Zakon I Pravosudie” Tokbergen Abiev.
Policemen, who looked after action (it was during fifteen minutes), its conduction did not interfere it; representatives of General Prosecutor’s Office made video record of this action.
