Situation with newspaper “Respublika” will be solved tomorrow
Appeal petition by suit of “BTA Bank” to the newspaper “Respublika- delovoye obozrenie” will be handled in City Court of Almaty at 10.00 a.m. on October 27, 2009.
The court of first instance has satisfied suit of “BTA Bank” to the newspaper “Respublika- delovoye obozrenie”. Judge Maksudov dismissed explanations of defendant, but he took proofs of servicemen of “BTA Bank” and satisfied them. As a result of it owner, publisher and chief editor were bounded to repay 20 000 000 tenge (each of them).
Edition of the newspaper “Respublika- delovoye obozrenie” has been seized after judgment of court of first instance in a week. It was done by judgment for suit of “BTA Bank” to the newspaper.
Appeal petition for judgment of Medeu District Court by suit of “BTA Bank” was given on September 24, 2009. Owner and chief editor of the edition did not wait for review of it in high court instance from prosecution, which has been around newspaper. They have asked bank to take euro bonds of “BTA Bank”. But, bank did not make offset.
Editorial staff of the newspaper “Respublika- delovoye obozrenie” has made a guess that this prosecution was done by top state officials. There was Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov, Head of Administration of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aslan Musin, Chief of Found “Samruk-Kazyna” Kayrat Kelimbetov, Chairman of Board of “BTA Bank” Anvar Saydenov and others.
Printing houses of the of the Republic of Kazakhstan did not print newspapers “Moya Respublika” and “Golos Respubliki”.
