Broadcasting of TV Channel “TV-ART” was closed by court decision in Caraganda

As International Press Agency KazIA informed, that Collegium for Civil Cases of Caraganda Regional Court left the decision standing of Specialized Inter District Economic Court in relation to TV Company “TV-ART”.
On June 10, 2009 Specialized Inter District Economic Court has passed a judgment about closure of broadcasting of Caraganda TV Channel “TV-ART” and annulment of certificate registration (on August 01, 2001). This certificate was given by Ministry of Culture and Information and Public Consent of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The charges stemmed from incident, which had happened on March 21, 2009. There was information in Kazakh language with call to national enmity in air of television channel and in SMS-chat, where television viewers send their messages from mobile phones. The staff of TV Channel “TV-ART” has explained that there was technical error and moderator was punished. But, representatives of Supervisory Body thought in other way. They have thought that there was violation of some articles of law, call to national enmity and demanded closure of television channel. Court of First Instance has satisfied a suit of General Prosecutor’s Office.
On June 17, 2009 Collegium for Civil Cases of Caraganda Regional Court has dismissed a suit of defendant and left the decision standing of Specialized Inter District Economic Court. This decision is came to law-enforcement.
