Nur.kz and Orda.kz reporter Ardak Yerubayeva detained in Aktobe
On August 31, Nur.kz and Orda.kz reporter Ardak Yerubayeva was detained in Aktobe when she tried to make a photo of the motorcade of Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.
The journalist was taken to the Zavodskoy police department, where she was kept for about three hours.
The police department of the Aktobe region confirmed the fact of the detention of Ardak Yerubayeva. According to the police, the journalist refused to comply with the lawful demand of the police officers.
“The prime minister is a guarded official. The officers acted in accordance with the instructions and detained Yerubaeva, who ran out toward the motorcade. She was taken away,” the police said.
The Aktobe policemen apparently know nothing about the rights of journalists.
