On August 12, at a meeting in court No. 2 of Kostanay, a resident of Kostanay Asylbek Muldakhmetov denied criminal charges in defamation against Olga Kolokolova, the editor-in-chief of the weekly Nasha Gazeta. In this regard, the case was dismissed.
As it was reported that the reason for the litigation was an article by Dmitry Petrenko, “Nobody Will Return My Face to Me” (NG, October 25, 2018). The article tells about a resident of Kostanay I. Bortkova, who underwent several maxillofacial operations. She was hospitalized with a diagnosis of “acute, genital osteomyelitis,” I. Bortkova blames Dental dentistry's doctor A. Muldakhmetov for that. As the editorial staff noted, the entire article was based on the words of Bortkova, the doctor himself, the director of the clinic and official documents.
