Thieves intruded into the editorial office of the Uralskaya Nedelya newspaper
Of all the property that was in the editorial office, only the laptop of the journalist Maria Melnikova was stolen, the Adil Soz correspondent reports.
According to Maria, about 4 AM an alarm went off in the office. The company's security officers were on the site after 2 minutes, but caught no one. The newspaper editor, Lukpan Akhmedyarov, arrived to the editorial office, inspected the premises, but did not notice any visible signs of robbery. Therefore, he closed the entrance doors and decided to wait till the morning. In the morning Maria Melnikova came to the office and saw that her laptop disappeared.
- The thieves did not take anything from the editorial office except for my laptop, although there were other computers, cameras, a lot of all kinds of equipment. Nobody tried to open the accounting room and did not take the things of other employees. I assume that the purpose of the thieves was specifically my laptop, or rather, the information that was in it. And I have suspisions about what information they came for. The fact is that I recently returned from a work trip where I was gathering materials for journalistic investigation. I don’t want to disclose the theme of the investigation, but I’m sure that those people who entered the editorial office did it because of this information, ” - said Maria Melnikova.
Now the police is working at the crime site, they are studying it and interviewing newspaper employees.
