А French journalist is on trial in Aktau
Vincent Prado, a director of a French TV channel is on trial at the specialized administrative court of Aktau. According to human rights activist Galym Ageleuov, Prado and his translator Danara were detained by migration police officers this morning when they were recording an interview with a participant of Zhanaozen events.
The director is accused of violating the rules of accreditation. Danara explained by telephone that before his trip to our country Prado submitted an application to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry where he indicated "Kazakhstan, including Almaty and Astana" as shooting locations. Now he is accused of shooting in Mangistau though having permision to shoot in the Almaty and Astana only.
“Vincent Prado wanted to make an objective film about our country showing all our strengths and weaknesses, for the world to know about us and for us to better ourselves” – says Galym Ageleuov reports.
