Editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Tribuna. Sayasi Kalam” Zhabolat Mamay was detained in Almaty

There was information on conduction of searches in the editorial office of newspaper “Tribuna. Sayasi Kalam” and in the house of its editor-in-chief Zhanbolat Mamay. This information was posted in social network “Facebook” on February 10, 2017. Later news agency “KazINFO Today” informed that Zhanbolat Mamay was detained by officers of National Anti-Corruption Bureau within the scope of investigation of the case over embezzlement of “BTA” bank funds by Mukhtar Ablyazov.
It was impossible to contact with Zh. Mamay and editorial staff, because their telephones were turned off. As at 12.30 a.m. 10 February, 2017 there was no information on detention of Zh. Mamay on the website of National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
