Social networks were unavailable in Kazakhstan on 16 December

In the evening of 16 December popular social networks Facebook, Google, Instagram, Youtube, VKontakte, Telegram, Twitter became unavailable in Kazakhstan. Some users informed that they could get access the above mentioned networks via VPN. At the same time other internet-resources remained available. According to the speaker of the Ministry of information and communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan the problem was caused by emergency failure at telecommunications networks of service providers. After several hours access to the social networks was restored.
