Press center is established for coverage of legal trial with regard to case of Matayev in Almaty
The press center for coverage of legal trial with regard to case of Chairman of Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan Seitkazy Matayev is established in Almaty.
Representatives of Committee for Support of S. Matayev said, that recently journalists of Kazakhstan and foreign media outlets appealed to them. They were interested in information on forthcoming trial. The detention and arrest of journalist had a deep public resonance, deputies of European Parliament, international human rights and journalistic organizations expressed their deep concern; Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan and International Foundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech “Adil Soz” decided to establish press center for in-depth and operative coverage of forthcoming legal trial.
They ascertained, that investigation, regarding to case of Matayev was completed. Nothing is known for exact day of launching of legal trial.
It is supposed, that press center will hold meetings with lawyers, famous legal experts, public figures and representatives of an international human rights organizations. Bloggers, who have their accounts in Facebook, Twitter, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and other popular social networks, they will be involved in coverage of legal trial. Representatives of Committee for Support of S. Matayev said that only a part of journalists and media outlets could attend legal trial and enter into court room. Itwasconnectedwithsummerholidays. As it was informed earlier, S. Matayev has expressed his willingness, in order to retort all charges during open legal trial with participation of the general public and international press.
