Speakers of press conference were detained before its launching in Almaty

The press conference should be conducted at 10.00 a.m. in National Press Club of Almaty. It was devoted to sale and lease of land. But, press conference was not conducted. Speakers of press conference, editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Zhas Alash” Rysbek Sarsenbaiuly, chief project reader “DAT” Ermurat Bapi, heads of the newspaper “Tribuna – Sayasi Kalam” Zhanbolat Mamay and Inga Imanbay; social figures Amirzhan Kosanov, Marzhan Aspandiyarova, Galym Ageleuov and etc. They were detained on their way to the National Press Club. The law enforcement officers detainedover twenty persons forcibly.

Eye-witnesses said, that glasses of one detained person were damaged, the second one had a bruise on his face. The newspaper “Zhas Alash” informed about it.

The activist Galym Agileuov said, that he came to press conference, saw a detention of speakers and began to make video of detention. Law enforcement officers pounced upon him and began to twist his arms up behind him. Galym had no resistance; law enforcement officers damaged his glasses, they inflicted a bodily harm (in particularly, bruises) and he was delivered to Almalinsk District Department of Internal Affairs.

Everyone was called individually, policemen asked questions, concerning their appearance near National Press Club and their future participation in meeting which would be held on May 07, 2016 and also, they did not recommend usage of social network Facebook and posted these arrangements actively.

After that, all of detained persons were released.
