Internet-portal was charged with violation of copyrights

Copyright Society of North Kazakhstan has filed a suit against website www.nur.kz to the court. It has charged website www.nur.kz with piracy of legal encyclopedia Defacto.kz. Plaintiffs demanded to recover KZT537000000 as compensation of moral damage and suspend its activity and functioning during three months. Later, suit was added by demand on acknowledgement of activity of www.nur.kz within the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan illegal. The judgment was passed. The property of Internet-portal was impounded. It was done in securing of suit.

The General Director of Internet-portal www.nur.kz Kuat Bakhridinov proposed to await trial, where position of both parties would be set forth. The trial was not launched; website www.nur.kz continued its functioning normally.

According to monitoring materials of foundation "Adil Soz" website www.nur.kz was accused in violation of national legislation several times. There was a complaint in blog of Minister of Culture and Information M. Kul-Mukhammed in 2013. Some comments which were posted on the website www.nur.kz , they contained "impaired" nationalistic statements. The opinion of an Internet-user was posted in blog of Chairman of Communication and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Dzhumagaliev in 2014. The Internet-portal www.nur.kz proved itself worth as platform of discords and aggressive feelings between Kazakhstan's people. 80% of comments which were posted on the website, they incited ethnic discords. In November, 2015 editor-in-chief of weekly "Nasha Gazeta" Olga Kolokolova has sent letter of claim to the staff of website www.nur.kz. It was connected with illegal usage of materials www.ng.kz. The disputable material was removed from website www.nur.kz.
