Media outlets and journalists of Kyrgyzstan Republic expressed their deep concern of situation around Seitkazy Matayev

Heads of media organizations have made a statement, concerning situation around Chairman of Board of Directors of their partner organization, Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan Seitkazy Matayev. 

Seitkazy Matayev – is a well-known person within or outside Kazakhstan. He began to embark upon a career from elementary correspondent to Press Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Vice President of Confederation of Journalistic Organization of CIS – Countries. He is a person of worth and authority among his colleagues in Kazakhstan and in some CIS-countries. 

The Republic of Kazakhstan has ratified treaties, for example, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Treaty on Civil and Political Rights; bound itself to protect fundamental rights and human freedoms. These obligations have right to a fair trial and presumption of innocence. For which cause, it is impossible to charge Seitkazy Matayev with crime and so to discredit him in professional sphere. The investigative arrangements towards criminal case of Seitkazy Matayev should be conducted in an unbiased manner, in details and clearly under the civil society spotlight. 

It is of highest important that investigation of criminal case with regard to famous journalist, owner of the independent information platform, in particularly, it launched on the eve of parliamentarian elections, it would not be an attempt of pressure upon freedom of speech in Kazakhstan.
