Journalist Guzyal Baydalinova was detained She was suspected in implication of dissemination of misleading information

Executive Director of Public Foundation "Charter for Human Rights" Zhemis Turmagambetova and President of Foundation "Adil Soz" Tamara Kaleyeva has filed a request of personal surety for Guzyal Baydalinova, in order to put under restraint with regard to her has not been related to arrest.  The request was sent to the Chief of Operational-Investigating Group Investigating Department  of Department of Internal Affairs, Captain of Police A. Chapurin.  

On December 23, 2015 journalist of Internet-portal Nakanune.kz, former employee of edition and newspaper "Respublika" Guzyal Baydalinova was detained for seventy-two hours and  brought to a local pretrial detention center of Department of Internal Affairs. The press release of Department of Internal Affairs had following information on charges of deliberately publishing false information. During investigating procedure it was found that editor of website     Nakanune.kz G. Baydalinova had implication in process of preparation and posting of invited publications. Earlier, journalist Rafael Balgin was detained on the same case. 

JSC "KAZKOMMERTSBANK" has filed a lawsuit, pre-trial investigation was conducted under article 274 p.3 "Dissemination of misleading information" of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan withing the scope of it  Guzyal Baydalinova was detained. On December 18, Almaty police searched Baydalinova's apartment, her colleague Yulia Kozlova's apartment, and Nakanune's newsroom. During the raids, authorities confiscated and seized journalists' computers and sealed office after the raid. 

The criminal proceedings against Baydalinova follow an Almaty court's 19 June 2015 verdict ordering her to pay 20 million tenge ($60,689) in damages after Kazkommertsbank filed a lawsuit claiming that an article published by Nakanune undermined its reputation. 

The editor-in-chief of Internet-portal "Respublika" Irene Petrushova (in particular, JSC "KAZKOMMERTSBANK" has charged her with undermining of its business reputation) informed to servicemen of foundation"Adil Soz" about pressure upon Guzyal Baydalinova. 

Irene Petrushova has believed, that they wanted to receive evidences against her. She probably was detained, in order to sign all necessary documents. Petrushova was sured, that it was only trigger for searching and detentions and opening of criminal case.
