Chairman of Aktobe Oblast Court has apologized for incident to journalists

On April 02, 2015 sentence of case over attempt at fraud with regard to two policemen and officer of financial police should be read out in the building of court № 2 (Aktobe); relatives of the accused persons attacked journalists.

Correspondents of newspaper "Aktobe Times", informed that there were not less than fifty relatives and friends of the accused persons.Before starting trial, when journalists stood on stairs, in order to take a photo of the accused persons; an unknown man, who introduced himself as friend of one of the accused persons, he said, that  it was inacceptable to take a photo under shariat. Then, when policemen went to the court room under guard, this man attacked camera man of newspaper "Diapason" Vladimir Zobenko seized the photocamera from his hands in the value of KZT500000 (1USD=185.65). Journalists from newspapers "Evrika" and "Diapason" Dmitriy Matveev and Yuri Geist, they saved photocamera and camera man. 

When trial started, relatives of the accused persons made "a wall" of them and they did not permit journalists to enter into court room. And when, Yuri Geist attempted to take a photo; his photo camera was damaged in the value of KZT15000 (1USD=185.65).   

After trial, journalists made oral complaint to chairman of court  № 2.

The Chairman of Aktobe Oblast Court Erlan Aitzhanov assembled journalists in the morning on April 03, 2015. He called this situation as incident, apologized for it to journalists and agreed, that they had been answerable for safety of everyone, who attended court.

Yuri Geist labored to recover cost of the damaged photo camera.
