Editorial staff of closed magazine "ADAM bol" has held event "Meeting with Readers" in Republic Square This event was launched from detentions

This event was held without in the absence of key initiators of meeting. The editorial director of edition Ayan Sharipbaev and journalist Miras Nurmukhanbetov were detained as they left their houses, when they went to the meeting with readers. The editor-in-chief Guljan Ergalieva and journalist Dilyaram Arkin were detained in the editorial office by policemen. We would like to remind you, that Guljan Ergalieva has gone on indefinite hunger-strike from January 19, 2015.

The Chairman of Federation of Equitable Journalists Rozlana Taukina was detained by policemen in her own house. Everyone of them was sent to the Department of Internal Affairs of Bostandyk and Medeu Districts. They had to write explanatory reports and two hours after, they were released. 

In the meantime, readers and supporters of magazine "ADAM bol" met in Republic Square of Almaty. The editor-in-chief of newspaper "Zhas Alash" Ryspek Sarsenbaiuly, human rights activist Marzhan Aspandiyarova, chairman of board of foundation "Journalists in Trouble" Ramazan Esergepov and human rights activist Erlan Kaliev made a speech in protection of freedom of speech. 

The Prosecutor of Bostandyk District Baurzhan Zhumakanov interrupted speeches of participants of meeting. His "warning" was greeted by words "Adam bol – be a protection".
