The new Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan has strengthene responsibility for slander and introduced punishment up to ten years of deprivation of liberty for spread of misleading information.
Stiff penalties for violation of integrity of privacy, assassination attempt on honour, dignity of various civil servants and etc. were retained. Norms of the Civil Code are still allow to waste any journalist and any media outlets. How should we preserve freedom of expression and protect ourselves from unjustified charges in these conditions? You know about, if you shall attend our one-day trainings "Freedom of expression in conditions of legislative restrictions".
You shall know:
◾Principles of preparation of publication guaranteed against charge with slander and insult and spread of misleading information;
◾Strategies of legal defense against intended charges;
◾How to avoid charges with spread of inaccurate information and refute them in a case of indictment;
◾How to avoid charges with incitement of social, religios and national enmity.
◾And many more.
A great number of practical materials and business role-playing games will be used during conduction trainings.

1.Boris Panteleev — Legal Expert of Moscow Bureau for Human Rights, Member of Working Group of Combatting Extremism under Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation;
2.Rakhilya Karymsakova — Candidate of Philological Sciences, Author of some handbooks for journalists, including "Cover but not to excite".
These trainings were organized and conducted by International Foundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech "Adil Soz" with the support of Center of the OSCE in Astana.
These trainings will take place on November 10, 2014 in Almaty, on November 12, in Astana and on November 14, in Aktobe.
