Arrest warrant of journalist related to case of slander was given first in Kazakhstan

The criminal case was opened with regard to journalist from Aktobe Natalia Sadykova; she was charged with slander, incident to the accusing a person of committing a corruption, grave or especially grave crime shall be punishable by restraint of liberty for a term of up to three years, or by deprivation of liberty for the same period under article 129 p.3 of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Former Member of Majilis of Parliament Maral Itegulov has filed a suit against Natalia Sadykova. The charges originated from article "They were straitened for tender" by Natalia Sadykova, who used pen-name Bakhyt Ilyasova posted it on portal "Respublika" where she deliberately slandered him and also, caused damage to his business reputation.

The material was published and posted on information and analytical portal "Respublika", in December 2013. There was information on scramble for state procurements in Aktobe oblast. Natalia Sadykova denies her involvement in publication of article; she said about it during interrogation in Office of Investigations under Department of Internal Affairs in February, 2014.

None informed her about launching of lawsuit. The first trial was held on March 17, 2014. The Judge of Aktobe City Court Raziya Kustanova has rendered arrest warrant in absentia of Natalia Sadykova. She was in Ukraine with her family for the time being (in particularly, they went to Ukraine still on March 09, 2014).

Her colleagues Tsyganova and Karpova testified. Tsyganova and Karpova said, that they did not testify against her.
