About 23.00 p.m. correspondent of newspaper "Svoboda Slova" (Aktobe) Igor Larra has gone out of porch of his friend in order to go home by a taxi on August 20, 2013. He set a course for taxi car, but, suddenly, four unknown persons came up to him, they knocked him senseless by a tire iron and began to stump him.

After regaining consciousness, I. Larra went to the Department of Internal Affairs, where he filed a complaint. He has awaited actions of policemen within three hours. They took his complaint; he failed to pass medical examination and obtain medical certificate of infliction of beatings on the same evening. Policemen said to him, that they do it on the following day. However, in the afternoon on August 21, 2013 he did not receive a telephone call from investigative officer and seek medical advice himself (his head was staved in and he had bruises on his body).

Igor Larra believes that this attack was connected with his professional activity; he published critical information on activity of Akim (Governor) of Aktobe Oblast Arkhimed Mukhambetov.

According to information of the newspaper "Svoboda Slova" in March, 2010 he was faced to the same attack on him. Editorial staff thought that there was targeted attack on journalist for his professional activity. Lately, Igor has made detailed review about strike of oilmen in Zhanaozen; problems connected with domestic and foreign oil producers of the region.
