«Pravdivaya Gazeta» was suspended for three months

On August 07, 2013 Judge of Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court of Almaty Rauza Musakhodzhayeva has suspended issue of the newspaper "Pravdivaya Gazeta" for three months. The lawsuit was initiated by Department of Internal Policy of Almaty which accussed edition in commitment of administrative offence under article 350 p.2 "Violation of Order of Pronouncement of Data Out" of Code of Administrative Violations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The edition has printed 7000 issues in spite of 8000 ones which were pronounced in data out.

During a lawsuit, Representative of Department of Internal Policy of Akimat (District Administration) of Almaty Korlan Kurmanbekova explained that a resident of Almaty Kanat Bayzhanov did not find any issue of the newspaper "Pravdivaya Gazeta" in city news-stands, he concluded, that there was a small number of printed issues, then pronounced ones. After that, he has made a statement to blog of akim (governor) of Almaty. Officials responsed on it rapidly and protocol of administrative offence was made after investigation with regard to newspaper.

The lawsuit lasted neither more ten minutes without media representatives (in particular, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Aliya Ismagulova was informed about lawsuit for 15 minutes, prior to its beginning).

The representative of foundation “Adil Soz” E. Malygina could attend trial after her plea to chairman of court Azamat Abdraimov. It was connected with illegal actions of representatives of akimat (district administration) of Almaty.

Prior to beginning of lawsuit, Representative of Department of Internal Policy of Akimat (District Administration) of Almaty Korlan Kurmanbekova said that only editor-in-chief of the newspaper could go into court room, the other ones should wait in corridor.

E. Malygina spoke with chairman of court Azamat Abdraimov as it turned out, that there were no lawsuits against "Pravdivaya Gazeta" in court files, dated 07 August, 2013. The chief of court staff explained, that it was a rapid preparation for lawsuit and they had no enough time in order to register it in computer.
