Sentence was passed upon charged with attempted murder of journalist Lukpan Akhmedyarov

Attempted murder sentence was passed upon four charged with attempted murder of journalist of the newspaper "Uralskaya Nedelya" Lukpan Akhmedyarov in Specialized Inter District Criminal Court of West Kazakhstan Oblast on July 10, 2013.

Askhat Takhambetov, Mursalim Sultangereyev, Manarbek Akbulatov and Almaz Batyrkhairov were found guilty of crime committing under articles 24 and 96 ("Attempted Murder") of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The court has found unproved charge with participation in organized criminal group

Askhat Takhambetov has been a head for crime, according to the invstigative version was punished by deprivation of freedom for a period up to fourteen years of imprisonment with the forfeiture of property.

Mursalim Sultangereyev has been a driver of car on which they moved in night of crime committment was punished by deprivation of freedom for a period up to twelve years of imprisonment with the forfeiture of property.

Almaz Batyrkhairov has confessed to shooting at journalist from traumatic pistol was punished by deprivation of freedom for a period up to eleven years of imprisonment with the forfeiture of property.

Manarbek Akbulatov has confessed to stabbing of journalist,was punished by deprivation of freedom for a period up to eleven years of imprisonment with the forfeiture of property.

They will be served their sentence in colony with a strict regime.

The court also ordered the defendants to pay KZT2000000 (1USD=152.44) from A. Takhambetov, KZT1000000(1USD=152.44) from M. Sultangereyev and KZT500000 (1USD=152.44) from Manarbek Akbulatov and Almaz Batyrkhairov in moral damages to the journalist.

The court has satisfied suit on recovery from defendants to pay KZT258000 in profit of state completely.
