Attempted murder sentence of journalist Lukpan Akhmedyarov should be pronounced on July 10, 2013

The judicial trial over perpetrators of attack on Lukpan Akhmedyarov was rounding itself out. On July 09, 2013 defendants spoke their last plea. They were: Askhat Takhambetov, Mursalim Sultangereyev, Manarbek Akbulatov and Almaz Batyrkhairov asked forgiveness for Lukpan Akhmedyarov and asked the court to pass fair verdict.

We would remind you that, Lukpan Akhmedyarov was attacked on April 20, 2013. By this fact, criminal case was opened under p.3 article 24 "Preparation for a Crime and an Attempted Crime" and p.2 article 96 "A Murder" (attempted murder) of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The defendants were taken into custody in December, 2012. Askhat Takhambetov has been a head for crime, according to the invstigative version; Almaz Batyrkhairov has confessed to shooting at journalist from traumatic pistol; Manarbek Akbulatov has confessed to stabbing of journalist, Mursalim Sultangereyev has been a driver of caron which they moved in night of crime committment. During their interrogation investigative officers inquired that it was contract attack on Lukpan and connected with his professional activity.

On April 29, 2013 the trial of accussed persons, who attempted on journalist from Uralsk Lukpan Akhmedyarov was launched in the building of Specialized Criminal Court of Uralsk. During trial defendants pleaded not guilty themselves to the charges under article 235 "The Creation and Guidance of an Organised Criminal Group or Criminal Association (Criminal Organisation), and Participation in a Criminal Association", article 24 "Preparation for a Crime and an Attempted Crime" and article 96 "A Murder"of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Everyone of them said that they had no any direct intent to kill him, they only wanted to intimidate him.
