Journalists were beaten in Palace of Peace and Reconciliation

On June 07, 2013 journalists of some media outlets have received information in Astana. There was a burning during concert "Zhas Kanat" ("Young Wings") in Palace of Peace and Reconciliation. All viewers and participants were evacuated. Journalists of newspaper "Liter", "Panorama", television channel "24 kz", Internet-newspaper "Vlast.kz" came up to Palace of Peace and Reconciliation (they came up to there by order of editorial staff). They attempted to receive information on incident from emergency agency' officers, firemen and doctors, who came up to there. Journalists failed to receive information from them and they should ask their questions to administration to Palace of Peace and Reconciliation.

Journalists have found one unlocked of the four doors and attempted to enter into there for receiving of explanation with regard to incident. However, guardsmen blocked their's way. The correspondent of newspaper "Liter" Tamara Vaal has been near door. She suffered more than the others. Three guardsmen began to push out fay, cuffed and kicked her by their leggs within twenty minutes. She was taken to the injury care center. Doctors said she had suffered multiple bruises, sores and injuries on her hands and legs. The Major of Command and Control Center Kaliev called to T. Vaal, when she returned from injury care center. He promised to take measures with regard to guardsmen of the building of Palace of Peace and Reconciliation. Then, law-enforcement agents of Almaty District Department of Internal Affairs (Astana) came up to her house, they were interested information on her beating. She filed a complaint with District Department of Internal Affairs and asked to punish guilty persons.

On June 10, 2013 Tamara Vaal has recorded her beatings in the Center of Forensic Investigation and gave diagnostic findings to District Department of Internal Affairs.
