Earlier, next issues of newspapers “Turan” and “Altyn Orda” were not published on August 30, 2012 in Atyrau. Editorial teams posted their appeals on websites of newspapers “Turan” and “Altyn Orda”. Journalists could not work there, because founders have exerted pressure on them. They made them to publish articles, which incited social enmity in the society, especially publications of open letters in support of the Ex-Akim (Governor) of Atyrau Oblast Bergey Ryskaliev.

The Head of Department of Internal Policy of Atyrau Oblast Eldar Zhumagaziev has met with dismissed journalists of newspapers “Altyn Orda” and “Turan” on September 01, 2012.

He gave to understand that newspapers “Altyn Orda” and “Turan” would be closed; he said that editorial teams would have a chance to change their previous place of work, they were able to work in state-owned editions “Atyrau” and “Prikaspiyskaya Kommuna”. Journalists expressed their willingness to accept this proposal. It was interim measure. They were afraid of rapid reduction, because staffs of state-owned editions had enough employees.

Early in 2000, newspapers “Turan” and “Altyn Orda” in Kazakh and Russian languages were published in Aktobe oblast, then editorial offices moved to Atyrau. There was no information on owner of the edition; materials were not published in date-line. Last time, Ex-Akim of Atyrau Askar Kerimov contacted with editors-in-chieves of newspapers“Turan” and “Altyn Orda” on behalf of owners. He insisted on publications of materials in protection of ex-akim of the oblast. Chief editors and editorial teams presented their voluntary resignation.
