There was demounting process of satellite antennas in Zhanaozen

The demounting process of satellite “dishes” under the pretext of beautification of the town was launched in Zhanaozen. Tenants of some houses were victims of the demounting process of satellite antennas in Zhanaozen. The law “On Television and Radio Broadcasting” was empowered local executive authority to do it. During work on draft law, human rights defenders insisted on removal of this norm, predicting about the struggle of the state against independent individual satellite receiver.
Zhanaozen – is one of some regions of Kazakhstan, where a great part of inhabitants, freely view the independent satellite television channel “K Plus”, which covered the strike of oil workers and tragic events on December 16, 2011 in Zhanaozen. Now, state bodies settle the equipment within scope of transfer to digital television it excludes the opportunity of receiver of satellite television channel “K Plus”.
