Editorial staff of newspaper "Uralskaya Nedelya" and relatives of Lukpan Akhmedyarov have hired guard for him

The of journalist of newspaper "Uralskaya Nedelya" L. Akhmedyarov was in serious condition, but he underwent general surgery.

The lawyer Abzal Kuspanov, who represented interests of L. Akhmedyarov during investigative process. He has said about his intention to make an appeal to Department of Internal Affairs (West Kazakhstan Oblast). Investigative officers should not take into account evidencies, given by journalist on the second day after attempt on his life. Lukpan Akhmedyarov said that he had an indistinct memory of issues of policemen and his replies on them.

He has told to the editor-in-chief of newspaper "Uralskaya Nedelya" T. Eslyamova about his impression, related to investigative process. Akhmedyarov said that policemen intended to qualify this attack as "domestic". Lukpan has reminded them about the pressure upon him on the part of KNB (the National Security Committee), but they ignored it.

L. Akhmedyarov believed that the attack was related to his "political" activity. He was one of the organisers of the gathering called "the Day of those who are against". Some people were unsatisfied by his papers (in particularly, a paper "Father of the son-in-law, brother and pull") which criticized the activity of state officials.

On April 20, 2012, the next day after intention to attempt homicide of L. Akhmedyarov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Uralskaya Nedelya" T. Eslyamova and a brother of L. Akhmedyarov

have sent the written request to Oblast Prosecutor. They asked to provide the guard for seriously wounded journalist Lukpan Akhmedyarov. But, General Prosecutor's Office of Uralsk did not respond to their written request properly. Editorial staff of the newspaper "Uralskaya Nedelya" hired the guard themselves.
