Journalist Rozlana Taukina was acquitted

There was a final trial in Medeu District Court of Almaty on April 17, 2012. The charges originated from article "Why are we quarrelers?" by Rozlana Taukina, published in the newspaper "Svoboda Slova" on December 01, 2011. A pensioner S. Kozhanazarov has made a private complaint to Medeu District Court of Almaty. Journalist Rozlana Taukina was acquitted, criminal case against journalist should be eliminated and private complaint of S. Kozhanarov, should be dismissed, according to court sentence.
The Lawyer of International Foundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech "Adil Soz" G. Krasilnikova has represented interests of R. Taukina in court.
