Pensioner Kozhanazar charges journalist of newspaper “Svoboda Slova” Rozlana Taukina with libel

The pensioner Seyitkerim Kozhanazar has filed a private claim to Medeu District Court of Almaty. The charges originated from article “Where we took the querulantship?” by Rozlana Taukina, published in the newspaper “Svoboda Slova” on December 01, 2011.
There was information on problems of relations between lecturers and students of the one institute of Almaty. Name, surname of accuser was not mentioned. R. Taukina gave the information on other person. However, Seyitkerim Kozhanazar has thought that there was a distribution of untruth information with regard to him. He has insisted on opening of a criminal case against R. Taukina under article 129 of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the same time Seyitkerim Kozhanazar has brought a civil suit about protection of honor, dignity and business reputation to the newspaper “Svoboda Slova” and journalist R. Taukina. Editorial staff should publish a disclaimer of the article “Where we took the querulantship?” by R. Taukina; they should recover KZT9000000 (1USD=147.75) as moral damage compensation.
The first trial will be held on March 28, 2012 at 16.00 p.m. in Medeu District Court of Almaty.
