Pressure upon editorial staff of newspaper is continued



The deputy editor of the independent weekly "Vzglyad" Alexei Gostev was summoned as a witness in Department of Committee of National Security on February 08, 2012. The pagemaker was also summoned there on February 09, 2012. Alexei Gostev should give signed testimony of nondisclosure of investigation secrecy. He could say to his colleagues, that security officials had no pretensions to the newspaper "Vzglyad".

The manager, who has been responsible for distribution of the newspaper "Vzglyad" Alexander Kof said that KNB officer Andrei tried to clarify the situation in editorial office after arrest of editor-in-chief Igor Vinyavskiy and opinion of journalists. He asked Kof to provide information for them and promised to give an assistance to Kof and his colleagues. Alexander Kof has refused to do it. Andrei said that Igor Vinyavskiy has been in investigation for a long period of time, he has not been harrassed from chairmanship of the OSCE, because the state power feared publicity. They have everything for detention of I. Vinyavskiy. New editor-in-chief of the independent weekly "Vzglyad" would be controlled by security officials.

The accountant of the independent weekly"Vzglyad" was summoned to Department of Committee of National Security of Almaty. A safe (it was seized from editorial office during search) was opened during three hours in her presence. There were constitutive documents and a seal of LLP "IAC Ayna", owner of the newspaper; foundation documents of the publisher of newspaper LLP "New Press Almaty" and proceeds from a sale of the newspaper KZT110700 (1USD=148.63).

Editorial staff of the independent newspaper "Vzglyad" asked about seized computers and office equipment. KNB specialists recovered files, which were deleted in notebook computers.
