Deputy editor of independent newspaper “Golos Respubliki” Oksana Makushina was summoned to KNB

The deputy editor of the independent newspaper “Golos Respubliki” Oksana Makushina, was summoned at Department of Committee of National Security of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty) on February 01, 2012 at 15.30 p.m. Oksana Makushina has shown the leaflet at press conference on January 30, 2012; when she has told about the motive of arrest of the editor-in-chief of newspaper “Vzglyad” Igor Vinyavskiy.

Earlier, editorial staff of the newspaper “Golos Respubliki” said that security office servicemen  of KNB tried to summon Oksana Makushina on January 31, 2012 at 19.20 p.m. She should come to KNB “immediately”. Makushina could not go there, because it was too late, she had a small son and did not receive any summons.

Editorial staff noted that they received the information on probable provocations against newspaper and their employees on the part of security agencies from some independent information resources. They trusted that the goal of all these operations to suspend the issue of independent media.
