Chancellor of State University of Taraz intended to recover KZT50000000 from newspaper "Obschestvennaya Pozitsiya"

The Chancellor of State University of M. H. Dulati (Taraz) Ashimzhan Akhmetov has filed a suit against republican weekly "Obschestvennaya Pozitsiya" about protection of business reputation to Specialized Inter District Economic Court of Almaty on December 05, 2011. The charges originated from article "Graduating students of State University of M. H. Dulati (Taraz), please do not disturb", published in the newspaper"Obschestvennaya Pozitsiya" ("Dat") on October 26, 2011. There was information on facts of corruption in Zhambyl oblast.
Plaintiff thought that the title of article causes wrong view of the real situation with respect to employment of graduating students unfairly. It could influence on decision of future school-leavers during selection of place of education and could have serious financial difficulties.
The Chancellor of State University of M. H. Dulati (Taraz) Ashimzhan Akhmetov has thought that there was an untruth information in publication. He asked to publish a disclaimer and recover KZT50000000 (1USD=147.64) as moral damage compensation.
It was a second suit, which has been filed within a month. On November 15, 2011 the Deputy of Majilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Romin Madinov has filed a suit against acting editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Obschestvennaya Pozitsiya" ("Dat") Bakhytgul Makimbay, journalist of the edition Zhumabike Zhunusova and owner of the newspaper. The charges originated from articles such as, "Roma is a business deputy" (dated on September 14, 2011), "Raider in the name of mandate" (dated on October 19, 2011) and "CEC has extended the term of Madinov's office" (dated on October 26, 2011). R. Madinov thought that there was an untruth information, discrediting his honor, dignity and business reputation. He asked the recovery of KZT500000000 as moral damage compensation. There was an addition to complaint. R. Madinov thought that these articles have been a revenge of Bakhytgul Makimbay for newspaper "Taszhargan" (in 2009, it should be closed after court decision, it should recover KZT30000000 by his suit about protection of honor and dignity.
