On November 23 – The International Day To End Impunity

On November 23 around the world journalists will demand justice for those who have been killed for exercising their right to freedom of expression.The International Freedom of Expression Exchange (IFEX) is a global network of organizations working to defend and promote the right to freedom of expression. Impunity has always been ranked as a top priority for IFEX members. IFEX members announced they were joining journalistic organizations of more than 90 countries to launch the first ever International Day to End Impunity on 23 November.

In the past 10 years,more than 500 journalists have been killed.

In nine out of 10 cases, the murderers have gone free.

In most cases killers have not been punished. The state power is being silenced, often with no investigation of it.
