A wife of the Chairman of Agency of Struggle for Economic and Corruption Crimes of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Kozhamzharov, Vice President of Internal Policy and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Saltanat Akhanova has filed a suit about protection of honor, dignity and business reputation to opposition website www. guljan.org and its editor-in-chief Guljan Ergalieva to Medeu District Court.
Saltanat Akhanova has demanded to publish a disclaimer of articles, which were placed on the website www.guljan.org on August 17 and 22, 2011. Saltanat Akhanova had multimillion accounts in Dubai and Switzerland; expensive villa in one of the prestigious area of Dubai supposedly. She demanded the recovery of KZT 2 billions 640 millions 296 thousands and 400 (1USD=147.89) as moral damage compensation; suspend the website function while civil suit would be examined.
The trial should be held on October 19, 2011. Defendants have applied for removal of continuance from a lack of lawyer. The next trial would be held on November 01, 2011.
