Servicemen of General Prosecutor's Office think that information resource of correspondent of newspaper “Vremya” Gennadiy Benditskiy disclosed state secret

On September 28, 2011 editorial staff of the newspaper “Vremya” has received a letter from servicemen of General Prosecutor's Office. Correspondent of the edition Gennadiy Benditskiy and executive editors of the newspaper should come to General Prosecutor's Office of Almaty.
A criminal case has been opened after publication of the article of journalist “Strong leak” (newspaper “Vremya”, on August 08, 2011) on August 31, 2011, under article 172 p.2 (“Disclosure of information constituting a state secret by a person to whom it was entrusted or became known through service or work, provided there are no indications of high treason”). Servicemen of General Prosecutor's Office asked to provide the order of publications of articles “Strong leak”, “When will the octopus die?”, “Undercover life” and “Hope more than life” by G. Benditskiy for them with regard to the investigation of criminal case. They have also been interested in accreditation of G. Benditskiy in law-enforcement organs.
