Servicemen of organization “BTA – Mortgage” has brought action against editorial staff of newspaper “Vzglyad”

The Branch of Joint Stock Company “BTA Bank – BTA Mortgage” has brought an action against Public Association “Reserve the dwelling for people” to Specialized Inter District Economic Court of Almaty. Editorial staff of the newspaper “Vzglyad” has been as co-defendant. The charges originated from press conference (it was conducted on May 24, 2011) and briefing (it was conducted on July 05, 2011), where representatives of public association have expressed their own opinion about actions of court officers and bank servicemen. It has led to tragic events.
Plaintiff noted that it damaged business reputation of the organization “BTA Mortgage”. Defendant has used the untruth information in his appearances and statements.
Servicemen of the organization“BTA Mortgage” asked to publish a disclaimer of untruth information and place the one disclaimer on the website www.sociallismkz.info (it was used by defendant actively).
The press conference and briefing of public association have been covered by some media outlets, but servicemen of the organization“BTA Mortgage” thought that the editorial staff of the newspaper “Vzglyad” has been involved in breach of their rights.
