Unknown persons threated to journalists of video portal Stan.kz

On September 20, 2011 journalists of Kazakh edition of video portal Stan.kz Sherniyaz Shagatay and Azamat Esbergen have conducted a press conference in Almaty. Unknown persons, who introduced themselves as officers of security agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan threatened to journalists from winter. First of all, they called them with suggestion to create the club of young journalists for discussion of national issues. In August and September, 2011 unknown persons asked journalists to provide the confidential information for them.
Later,Sherniyaz and Azamat have received threats on the phone. But, Sherniyaz Shagatay had a intreatment. Unknown persons, who introduced themselves as officers of security agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan came to him several times. They did not call their names, privide any service certificates.
After the latest surrender of journalist to provide the confidential information for unknown persons, they began to threat to him and members of his family.
The Producer of Video Portal Stan.kz Danesh Baybolatov has made a statement on press conference. He was worried about situation. He thought that it was necessary to inform the society and human rights organizations about unprecedented cases of the pressure upon journalists.
Sherniyaz Shagatay and Azamat Esbergen have intended to file a statement with police.
