On May 31, 2011 appeal instance of Almaty City Court affirmed judgment of Bostandyk District Court (Almaty) by suit of Meezgul Abdikazhimova about protection of honor, dignity and recovery of KZT10000000 (1USD=145.43) to the newspaper "Kazakhstanskaya Pravda" and journalist Natalia Valuyskaya. The court has dismissed suit of plaintiff.
The charges stemmed from article "She has failed from her slander" by N. Valuiskaya, which was published in the newspaper "Kazakhstanskaya Pravda" on September 30, 2010. It was done by press-release of Department of Financial Police of Almaty and materials of press conference. It was conducted by Deputy for Head of Department for Economic and Corruption-Related Crime Control of Almaty A.K. Mukhamadiev.
Meezgul Abdikazhimova has been in investigative isolation ward. She was charged with official bribery. This article has discredited the dignity. Meezgul Abdikazhimova has demanded the recovery of moral damage, to refute the headline and phrases such as, "aventurous madam", "swindler" and "fall for duck".
Representative of journalist, head of legal service of foundation "Adil Soz" Ganna Krasilnikova has referred to outputs of linguistic expertise. She explained that disputable phrases have been estimated ones. An evaluation of the actions was given to Abdikazhimova. She violated law and moral principles of the society. Facts were summarized in publication. They have been truth ones. An estimation of actions could not be prosecuted, according to law.
