Editor-in-chief of newspaper
“Molodezhnaya Gazeta” (Zhezkazgan) Berik Zhagiparov has told about telephone calls from unknown persons. They assaulted him and asked to close the newspaper. He thought that it was connected with the publication of critical materials, related to problems of oblast, concerning activity of core corporation
“Kazakhmys”.

He has filed a complaint with head department of internal affairs of Zhezkazgan. His complaint has been ignored and unknown persons continued to threat.
There was a press conference on May 31, 2011 in Almaty. Berik Zhagiparov has told about prosecutions, unplanned control of supervisory bodies with respect to newspaper. Representatives of department of internal policy (Karaganda oblast) have sent a letter to editorial staff of the newspaper. Editorial staff of the newspaper
“Molodezhnaya Gazeta” published materials, which have been fallen short of subject matter in certificate of media registration. If issue of the edition has not been satisfied to information in certificate, representatives of department of internal policy would bring a record of administrative violation p.4 under article 342 of Code of Administrative Violations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Berik Zhagiparov has thought that articles in the newspaper related to the specific, stated in certification of media registration – promotion of healthy lifestyle.
