Claims of banking servicemen to newspaper "Сentral Asia Monitor” were disallowed

On August 23, 2010 Judge of Specialized Inter District Economic Court of Almaty Gulnar Meirzhanova has made a decision by suit about protection of honor, dignity and business reputation of Bank of Development of Kazakhstan and its six borrowers to owner of the newspaper "Сentral Asia Monitor” -LLP “Alem BG”. Claims of banking servicemen were disallowed. Judge of Specialized Inter District Economic Court of Almaty Gulnar Meirzhanova has also released from attachment of movable and immovable property (it was seized earlier) of the editorial staff.
Earlier, the charges stemmed from some articles, which were published in the newspaper "Сentral Asia Monitor” by pen name Alan Beketov. There was information on problems of fulfillment of credit liabilities of heavy borrowers of Bank of Development of Kazakhstan. There were JSC “Kaustik”, LLP «Silitsium Kazakhstan”, JSC “Agromashholding”, LLP “Kazalhcement”, JSC “Company Biochim” and “Yutex”). They demanded recovery of KZT 350000000 (USD23810) as moral damage.
Media outlets have been united with newspaper “Central Asia Monitor” during the coverage of this legal proceeding.
