Newspaper “Central Asia Monitor” was distressed

On July 16, 2010 Bank of Development of Kazakhstan and its six heavy borrowers such as, JSCs “Kaustic”, “Agromashholding”, “Company “Biokhim”, “Youteks”; LLPs “Silitsium Kazakhstan” and “Kazakhcement” have brought a suit against owner of the newspaper “Central Asia Monitor”, LLP “Alem BG” about protection of honor, dignity, business reputation and recovery of KZT350000000 (USD23809) as moral damage to Specialized Inter District Court of Almaty.

The charges stemmed from articles “Time presses. Does time wait till is over?” (28.08.2009), «Listen to advice, but do one's own thing” (04.09.2009), «A time to gather stones, or what Bank of Development of Kazakhstan made in Kazakhstan?” (15.09.2009), «Everything is not solved with the help of money (21.09.2009), «In waltz time” (22.09.2009), «Fair game and unfair one” (29.09.2009), «Chained» (06.10.2009), «BDK: strange sympathy to “Kazakhcement” (07.10.2009.) by Alan Beketov.

On July 19, 2010 Judge of Specialized Inter District Court of Almaty G. Meyirzhanova has satisfied plaintiff claims. Lawyer of plaintiff L. Zhanseitova made an application. She requested to prohibit newspaper“Central Asia Monitor” publication of material about its grantors.
