Internet-users have brought suits against Ministry of Communication and Information to court

City Court of Ust-Kamenogorsk has taken 150 suits, which were brought against Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan by different Internet-users on May 13, 2010. The charges stemmed from blocking of forum-partner portal “Respublika”. There was no any decision, concerning closure of this Internet-resource on the part of its owner, or court.
Plaintiffs thought that employees of Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan did not take any measures of giving back constitutional rights of Internet-users for free getting of information. Law “On Communication” of the Republic of Kazakhstan should exercise state and technical control in the sphere of communication.
