Journalists at the elections: we announce a "hotline"

The closer the election date is, the more vigilantly officials monitor the media. Sometimes their claims are really astonishing.

In Kostanay, "Nasha Gazeta" publishes a "NG quotes" column. Last time, it quoted a Facebook post by presidential candidate Karakat Abden that Halloween-type holidays should be banned at the state level. The Department of Public Development immediately reacted with a demand... to provide equivalent space for all other presidential candidates.

Timur Gafurov, the editor of "Nasha Gazeta" asked "Adil soz" for advice. The legal service of the foundation reported that such demands are illegal, since the quote does not contain any election campaigning and information about the presidential candidate's program.

Most likely, there may be more misunderstandings and direct violations of the rights of journalists and the media on the election day. Therefore, on November 20, journalists will be able to apply to Adil Soz hotline.
