A court in Aktobe found journalist Ardak Yerubaeva not guilty of defamation

8 february 2024

Today, on February 7, the Specialised Inter-district Court on Administrative Offences of Aktobe found journalist Ardak Yerubaeva not guilty of libel and terminated the administrative proceedings due to the absence of elements of administrative offense in her actions.
Recall that the proceedings were initiated by the director of the Irgiz district gymnasium, who appealed to the police with a demand to prosecute two journalists - Ardak Yerubaeva and the editor of TilshiNews.kz Askar Aktleuov - for spreading knowingly false information. The director of the school believes that the journalists spread slander in their posts on social networks, linking the dismissal of the technician with complaints to the Akim of the region during his visit to the gymnasium.
During the investigation, a linguistic examination of the texts of Ardak Yerubaeva's posts was conducted. The expert examination concluded that there was no information defaming the honour and dignity of the applicant in the examined texts.
The administrative case under part 2 of Article 73-3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan against Ardak Yerubaeva was terminated.
