The chief editor of «Saryagash-inform» Amangeldy Batyrbekov has once again become the accused.
The trial for defamation has begun in the specialized court for administrative offenses of the Saryagash district in the Turkestan region. Once again, accusations have been brought against the chief editor of the «Saryagash-inform» newspaper, Amangeldy Batyrbekov. This information is reported by «Radio Azattyk».
The basis for the lawsuit was the article titled «Нағыз қарабет кім екен?» («Who is the real dishonest person?»), published on June 30. In it, Amangeldy Batyrbekov wrote that one of the candidates for deputy in the early parliamentary elections had presented a fake certificate of no criminal record, which he obtained with the assistance of an employee from the Shymkent branch of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records of the General Prosecutor's Office.
The official considered this information to be slander, however, he did not specify with which statements he disagreed.
The consideration of the case began with the recusal of the judge. The same judge has already considered cases where the accused was Amangeldy Batyrbekov three times, and two of them were subsequently canceled by higher authorities who found the journalist innocent.
