Sandugash Duisenova Released on Bail

Journalist Sandugash Duisenova has been released on bail, as confirmed by the Zheticy Regional Police Department: "Ms. Duisenova was taken to the city police department. She confessed to the charges and, following procedural measures, was released under the condition of a written commitment not to leave the specified location and to maintain proper conduct. Currently, the regional department maintains oversight of the investigation." As a reminder, Sandugash Duisenova was detained on August 11 in Taldykorgan. She is suspected of disseminating information about private life, including personal or family secrets, through public speeches, work, media, and telecommunications networks (Article 147, Part 5 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan). The penalty for this offense ranges from three to seven years of imprisonment.
