Ban on location of Kazakhstan’s servers from outside country was lifted

There was publication of one of last orders of Chairman of Agency of Information and Communication of the Republic of the Kazakhstan on March 12, 2010. It was connected with “Rules of domain distribution of Kazakhstan’s Internet. Agency of Information and Communication of the Republic of the Kazakhstan annulled absurd point of these rules. It was connected with the stoppage of websites whose servers were located from outside Kazakhstan.
These rules were adopted in 2005. Representative Officer of Freedom of Mass Media of OSCE Miklosh Kharashti addressed to government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He said that there should not be any demands to servers of domain.kz on territory of Kazakhstan. Every editor should know about placement of its domain in Internet.
The functioning of domain www.kub.kz and other opposition websites was stopped for last five years on the ground of this point.
